Joining Town in September 2015, from Everton's academy, Matty is seen as one of the academies brightest prospects and it is hoped that he can make an impression in the first team.
Daly made his Town debut in April 2019 in a 2-1 loss at home to Watford. Although in his second season as a first team member, Matty failed to make an impression under then Town Boss Danny Cowley, although he scored an injury time winner against Charlton, with the arrival of Emile Smith-Rowe reducing his chances further. He ended the season with Town's best goal to minute ratio. Scoring a goal every 54 minutes.
Matty then signed a new three year deal that keeps him at the club until 2023 after impressing Carlos Corberan in pre season, with the club holding an option to extend his contract by a further year.
