Joining Town on the 30th January 2019, on an initial 3 1/2 year deal. The Charlton Academy product signed for a £1.5 million fee.
After a debut against Chelsea, Grant scored in his next sub appearance against boyhood club Arsenal - a goal given to him by the Premier League goal decision panel. That goal was record breaking as it meant he became the 6th youngest player to score in all 4 top English divisions and the youngest ever player to score a goal in 7 major domestic competitions - Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, FA Cup, League Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy. Karlan ended the 18/19 season as top scorer at Town with 4 goals despite only making 13 appearances that season Undoubtedly he burst onto the scene for many town fans after he scored two goals away at West Ham even though the team went on to lost the game 4-3. This followed by a superb second season where his goals lifted town to Championship survival by scoring 19 goals making him the highest scoring town player since Jordan Rhodes hit 40 goals in League One.
After nearly a year-long interest in Town's top scorer from the previous season, Karlan joined Premier League side West Bromwich Albion for £14 million.
