Joining Town from his boyhood club 1860 München, for a then club record fee of £1.98 million on 29th June 2016. Schindy became a club legend after slotting in calmly his first ever professional penalty to win Huddersfield the playoff final and send them to the Premier League.
After making his Town debut against Brentford in August 2016, Schindler scored a decisive winner against Ipswich. Often played in the Left side of defence, Chris won the Club's player of the season for both season's they were in the premier league and was named club captain by Jan Siewert in 2019. Schindler has been ever present in the 2019/20 season playing every minute except for the final game of the season against Millwall where he pulled out 30 minutes before kick off due to toothache.
Chris left at the end of the 2020/21 season, upon the expiry of his contract, joining German side 1. FC Nürnberg.
