Joining Town for a fee of £9 million from AS Monaco, Adama signed a 3 year deal on 20 July 2018, while the club have an option for a further year. Monaco had signed him the previous summer as a possible replacement for departed superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Life at Town did not get off to a good start for Adama as he only played 12 games in the Premier League without registering a goal or an assist as Town were relegated to England's second tier. During his second season with the Terriers things started out better, he got 3 assists and won a penalty in his first 18 games before an argument with then boss Danny Cowley led him to being loaned out to Nottingham Forest for the second half of the season.
He left for Amiens in February 2021. Let's just leave it at, the decision to let him leave benefited all parties.
