A product of Huddersfield Academy, Duane Holmes came through from under 9s level to making his first team debut in 2013. A talented individual, but being quite slight, the physicality of the Championship challenged him and his contract was not renewed at the end of 2016.
Duane re-signed for his hometown club in January 2021 after impressing at Derby and Scunthorpe respectively. He showed at Derby that he was Championship quality and he could cope with the physicality needed. He also became a full USA international in his time away. He signed a 3.5 year deal and took the number 9 shirt.
