Danny joined Town on the 17th August 2020 on a free transfer from fellow EFL Championship side Cardiff City. Although this was not the first time Danny signed for Town, it was infact his third time! He previously signed on loan from Bolton in March 2011, before making that move permanent in July 2011 for a fee in the region of £1 million.
During his first two spells at the club, Ward made 140 appearance, with 95 starts scoring 21 times and providing a further 24. He was also part of Simon Grayson's league one promotion winning side in 2011/12.
